Getting Home: Day 2

The 15 hour flight was long (no kidding). The American Airlines bed seats were actually a bit more comfortable than Delta but it was still difficult to rest really well. There were issues with the entertainment screens which was unfortunate on such a long flight but we made it through. Arrived at JFK airport at 5:30 a.m. Got to test the CBP-MPC app for getting through the passport control. Super fast! We’ll definitely be using that again. After picking up our bags, we dropped them off at a nearby point where they simply scanned our bags. We didn’t have to go back through check-in. A nice feature. We found the AA Chelsea lounge (more lounge surfing) which was very quiet. We spent the morning here hanging out for our Noon flight (originally 9:00) back to NC. We got up shortly after 10:00 and walked the airport till boarding. Our flight left on time and we were back at RDU and home by 3:00. Whew! 38 hours on planes and in airports. Exhausting.

We’ll post our thoughts about Bhutan soon. A video of our time there will follow shortly thereafter.
